The crockpot pulled pork turned out great! Added a little pimento cheese to impress Brad but the green beans immediately unimpressed him (he doesn’t like green beans) so it evened everything out. 🤣 Wouldn’t want to overdo it on a Tuesday. 😚 Life is a ride. Sometimes a rollercoaster that scares you but you’ve clicked in, it’s taken off and now you have to go. You know it’ll end soon but feels like the longest minutes of your life.

Seasons are like that. Great. Hard. Happy. Sad. Surprises, good and bad.

Everything is SO MUCH happier or SO MUCH sadder this time of year. Everything.

We had something happen before thanksgiving that attempted to steal our joy. And the moment it happened after some crocodile tears (on my end) I immediately looked at Brad and said “this can NOT overshadow that this is our first Christmas with Elliott Jane.” And I keep telling myself over and over again when my mind goes to that hard thing and then I look at the face of this baby we get and it hasn’t. It won’t.

But I hope this is a reminder to you that even the Helper Elf whose blood is candy cane stripe this time of year has hard times/days too.

If you’re in that hard season you can’t come out of quick enough, remember the ride will end. You’ll get back on your two feet again, but until then maybe just throw your hands in the air. Sometimes you can feel the wind in your hair a little more that way, and hands up really makes you feel alive.

The ride will end.
You’ll be on your feet again. ✨ You betta believe we have #elfontheshelf paper plates (thanks to Brad’s sweet mama) and you better believe JOY is the theme in this house this season. 💕
Salmon and zoodles with a dill sauce.
1/3 c mayo
1/3 c sour cream
Garlic salt
2 tbsp kerrygold butter
1 tsp dill
Melt your butter over medium heat, add your mayo and sour cream, garlic salt and dill. Serve immediately.
✨QUESTION ✨ I’d love the tradition of reading The Night Before Christmas AND ALSO, The story of Jesus’ birth the night before Christmas to Elliott Jane — I’d love both for be pretty illustrated and a pretty book...anyone have suggestions for me? Thanks in advance!✨ [CLOSED] Lunch + a GIVEAWAY!✨
.
One lucky winner will receive an entire CASE of the @realgoodfoods bacon wrapped stuffed chicken. They are so good, so low in carbs, that I just had to give some away. These have been our go-to lately when Elliott Jane needs me more than the kitchen and they are perfect.

They have finally perfected their recipe with these and they are GREAT.

To win a case!! of these:
• follow me @dailyketosis • follow @realgoodfoods
• tag a friend
• and for kicks and giggles tell me your favorite tradition you have around the holidays. Trying to create as many as I can with our sweet girl.
I’ll pick a WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER (pun intended😂 PUNNY, huh?🤪) on Tuesday evening. My friend said she saw this cup and thought of me. It’s green and says “thrill of hope...” it’s gorgeous.

This morning I was singing that song “a thrill of hope the weary world rejoices...”
.
And then I changed it to “a thrill of hope this weary girl rejoices!”
.
Because look smiling right behind that mug. My hope came true.

Happy Sunday. Love someone well today. Every day, in every way, I truly feel like the luckiest. I was born to be a mama and wife. And I can’t believe after so many years and tears this is my every day. Staring at the face of the man that loves me taking a picture of me and our baby.
Dreams come true.
