New Chili Recipe


Brad is the designated errand runner in his house so if my grocery list isn’t precise then I get what I get…This week it was one can of diced tomatoes instead of two and you know what, IT WORKED. This chili was different than my usual chili and dare I say, I loved it. I love it when a mistake turns into a new recipe!IMG_0751


2 tablespoons of olive oil

2 pounds of meat (I prefer a ground meat and then a stew meat/a chucnkier meat)

1 can diced tomatoes

1 can tomato sauce

8 ounces of mushrooms

1 cup of pearl onions (I get these frozen at kroger)

garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper (Add to your taste preference, I always go heavy on the garlic and cumin)

Start browing your meat over medium-high heat with your olive oil. Add the mushrooms and continue cooking until the meat is brown. Add your spices, your two cans of tomatoes and pearl onions (again, I would have never used these but it’s all we had and I ended up LOVING them in the chili!)

Once everything is added, let simmer over medium to low heat for on hour or two. This would feed five. Double the recipe if you like leftovers.

Grill some hotdogs, add sour cream and cheese and diced onions for chili dogs.

Non keto: add all of the above and some tortilla chips!

  1. Thanks for posting! I tried it too with my Pearl onions that were in the freezer, YUM! My chili has black beans too!
